OnKim explores the processes through which reading, listening, and writing mediate one another and are translated across different sensory modalities. Rooted in sound and text, the artist's early research into the conceptual structure of the book (Livre-objet) has expanded toward the immaterial dimensions of language derived from the book.
Approaching language as an unfolding event rather than a fixed system, OnKim questions how perception is organized and the conditions under which the senses newly belong to one another. Centered on reading performance, the artist collaborates with various practitioners to open up the performative possibilities of reading and listening.
